ABOUT THIS BLOG (AND IT’S AUTHOR)
I (Eric Adams) began From the Code Mill to serve as a resource for learning all things related to web development, particularly having to do with PHP and JavaScript. This includes tutorials, useful scripts, product highlights, third-party libraries….really just the things I enjoy about what I do, and want to share!
I have worked as a Web Developer for 7+ years. I began my work in PHP with data mining applications for insurance. This evolved into Customer Relationship Management applications. I also worked for 2 years in commercial content management applications for a publishing company in Philadelphia. I now work for Synacor, Inc. creating web portals.
I believe in creating applications that are lightweight, and have a focused purpose. My interests include:
- PHP Code Quality tools (PHPUnit, PHPMD, etc.)
- HTML5 and Progressive Enhancements
- Clean and simple UI creation
- Writing an uber-lightweight MVC layer to use on future projects
- Web Services (specifically in enhancing a CMS back end)
- PHP-GTK 2
I hope you enjoy my blog, and I can help others as so many have already helped me.
